Lone Star State Wedding Venue Round Up

Planner XO Moreau takes you on a tour of her shortlist of the hottest Texan wedding venues: Prospect House, Hotel Drover, The Astorian & The Saint George.

You know I love a destination wedding with my toes in the sand, but I also know (and yes, love) some close-to-home venues that you don’t want to miss! Let me take you on a little tour of some of my faves around the Lone Star State. From a blank canvas of a venue to a worth-the-trip spot in the desert, you’ll love my top four unique Texas wedding venues.

Prospect House: Creative & Versatile

DRIPPING SPRINGS, TX

Just outside of Austin in Dripping Springs, Texas, Prospect House is a top venue I recommend to couples who want a sleek, modern space that is a blank canvas. It’s stunningly versatile, with a bright, open concept space featuring 15’ ceilings. This one venue offers five different options for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception spaces, plus gorgeous grounds that will have your photographer drooling when portrait time arrives. Whatever you dream of for your wedding, this Prospect House offers an abundance of creative freedom and is aesthetic AF. It’s close to downtown Austin, yet far enough out that it feels like a private oasis from the hustle and bustle of the capitol city. Check out Casey and Danny’s wedding on the blog to see what modern pastel magic we made there!

Hotel Drover: Legendary Elegance at the Rodeo

FORT WORTH, TX

Hotel Drover is an elegant and elevated hotel in the heart of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. This spot is perfect for making your wedding a whole weekend experience for guests — it’s close to happening shops, bars and restaurants, and they can even check out a rodeo. Get hitched in the barn built with reclaimed timbers with an absolutely stunning giant chandelier, or over in their Legacy Hall you’ll find raw wood beams and giant windows. And the hotel itself? Gorgeous! I want to live in one of their legendary suites where you can spend the day in a soaking tub, or stay in the Presidential Suite that has two rustic stone fireplaces to choose from.

The Astorian: Moody Vibes & Stunning Views

HOUSTON, TX

The Astorian is the top wedding venue in Houston. It offers fantastic views of the downtown skyline and a ton of space to throw a killer party — seriously, it’s 14,000 square feet. The huge columns and black ceilings stun us with their industrial, moody vibes, and the historical building with its glittering chandeliers and huge windows oozes charm. With major New York City and art deco nods, The Astorian is a unique spot to host your Huston nuptials.

The Saint George: Contemporary & Elevated Dance Hall

MARFA, TX

Ready to hit the road? The secluded West Texas town of Marfa kicks major ass, and there’s no better place to get married there than The Saint George. It may be far — Marfa is 400 miles from San Antonio — but spending your wedding weekend in this tiny desert town bursting with a killer arts scene is worth the drive or flight. And though it may be in the middle of the desert, The Saint George is a contemporary hotel that would dazzle any cosmopolitan couple. Their spaces are designed with the classic Texas dance hall in mind, but are elevated, with clean lines and soaring ceilings. Rent out the pool area to end the wedding day with your closest friends jumping in under the wide open sky. I’m obsessed.
