Think of San Jose del Cabo in August, and you think of ocean breezes, sunkissed palm trees, and delicious tequila. And now you’ll think of Magen and Mickey’s wedding, too, because it was that iconic. The couple let us bring our colorful flair to their destination wedding at Baja Luna. Its pristine white walking paths and architecture were the perfect backdrop for tropical-inspired pops of color, which we put everywhere. The altar (which later framed the sweetheart table) featured billowing chartreuse-colored silk ribbons printed with the happy couple’s name. On either side, Remi + Gold created towering ombre installations of peach, rust, and crimson blooms punctuated with palm leaves. The only thing neutral about this wedding was the guests’ attire… we asked everyone to dress in tan or brown so Baja Luna’s gorgeous scenery and our vibrant designs popped. Baja Boutique Rental Company was the star of our design show, busting out a dope teepee and macrame chandeliers over a cane bar, bamboo chairs, and all the other rentals that completed the look. The Baja Luna mixologists are true tequila experts and hosted a Tequila Cascahuín tasting during cocktail hour, helping the guests learn about the libation and get loose and ready to bust some moves after the family-style dinner. DJ Mark from DLT Events dropped so many bangers that the only reason people left the dance floor was to grab a hot-off-the-cart churro. Magen and Mickey ended the night in the way all Mexican destination weddings should — with a trip to the pool, where they stripped down to their skivvies and took a romantic midnight dip.
