The Knot + WeddingWire Vendor Mixer

I was contacted by The Knot in March of 2019 with the invitation to plan and design The Knot + WeddingWire vendor mixer. It was a complete & utter surprise- Austin has hundreds of talented wedding planners, and they chose me, xo moreau weddings, to take the reins for this event! I was (and still am) SO honored to be have been given this amazing opportunity.

The three hour event is a networking opportunity for all wedding vendors in the Austin market to socialize with other industry pros, get some tips & tricks to optimize their advertising with The Knot, and eat and drink to their hearts content! I was given full creative freedom by The Knot and able to build my vendor dream team from scratch. I decided to fulfill my long-burning desire to create a 1970’s desert themed event. To say it was groovy would be an understatement 😉

There are so many talented wedding professionals in the Austin wedding market, and my vendor team was truly the best of the best. They exceeded all of my expectations to help bring this interactive event to life. I truly could not have done this without each and every vendor listed below.

The event was held at Springdale Station, an east Austin gem. This restored train station leaves so much creative opportunity for any event. This venue accommodated our 300+ guest count comfortably and flawlessly.
We “wowed” guests before they event walked through the door with these stunning 6ft tall grid columns from Bee Lavish, beautiful desert florals from The Farmer & I Flower Co, and custom 70’s signage from Homestead Ink.
My goal was to channel raw, textural, earthy tones to bring that desert feel to life. Carrington, owner of The Farmer & I Flower Co, absolutely nailed this. She also fully trusted me when I asked her to bring cinder blocks for decor to this event L O L.
The ladies of Bee Lavish couldn’t have done a more incredible job of implementing all of their beautiful rentals throughout the event! From lounges, to tables & chairs, to backdrops, this event wouldn’t have been the same without y’all!
The event consisted of three bars: a cocktail bar (seen above), a beer bar, and the Champagne Supply Co champagne truck located in front of a champagne wall. I loved not only having a variety of options, but also taking a “must have” item, like the bar, and turning it into multiple design pieces to wow our guests.
Full Spectrum Ice Sculptures made this beautiful cactus ice sculpture as a fun feature for our cocktail bar! ILD Lighting lit the sculpture up perfectly to be the star of the show.
Bee Lavish had created this unique backdrop, which we turned into our vendor recognition board for the vendors who helped create this event. This backdrop + subtle uplighting + gorgeous florals + amazing signage = very happy wedding planner 😉
When I say “vendor dream team”… I mean it! Y’all the best ever.
The backyard patio area at Springdale Station is so full of opportunity and was such an incredible space for all of the vendors to socialize.
Photos do not even do this Ring for Tacos Wall justice. All you had to do was ring the bell, and delicious tacos *magically* appeared in the windows! Huge shout out to Jesse at Royal Fig and his team for being so creative and making the food presentation so fun for this event. Also, thank you to Bouquets of Austin for allowing us to use your wall for this fun feature.
No party is complete without an epic photobooth! The Vannagram & Co team brought their 1979 Volkswagon bus so our guests could have the ultimate photobooth experience. Isn’t it the cutest thing you have ever seen?
DJ Adam Morgan of LeForce Entertainment kept the party alive! He is the ultimate entertainer- Adam is unbeatable in talent, personality, and passion for what he does.
Champagne Supply Co serving up bubbles and delicious champagne cocktails from their cute little truck!
This huuuuuuge champagne wall from ILD Lighting was such an awesome feature and photo op for our guests!
Roaming Avocado Toast Carts from Royal Fig. I told y’all they outdid themselves!
Heirloom Tomato Carving Station- so fun, creative, and unique.
Prickly Pear Margarita, anyone? 🙂
A Desert Churro station by Royal Fig. SO delicious!
This dessert spread, brought to you by Iced Cakes & Confections, was a hot spot for our guests. Elana offered a variety of sweets for everyone to enjoy.
Check out this good boy.
The Ring for Taco Wall in action! We listened to these bells all night. Guests loved this feature!
My wedding planning clients know that I love making events as interactive and enjoyable as possible for guests. Implementing yard games is such a simple and inexpensive way to do this. We offered giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, and cornhole, and they kept everyone busy!
Our outdoor beer bar!
We offered a Strategy Bar, which allowed guests to sit down with staff from The Knot + WeddingWire to review their storefronts on TheKnot.com and optimize their advertising.
Isn’t it incredible how much of a difference uplighting can make? ILD Lighting made our design highlights pop so the party could continue once the sun went down.
The incredible ladies of The Knot + WeddingWire, Kerri from LUSTREbella, and myself as the event was coming to an end. Thank y’all for selecting me and trusting me with this incredible event! See y’all soon!
